Tablet Rental Service

Eunota Court Reporting is pleased to now offer a tablet rental service for those firms participating in legal meetings via videoconference in New Brunswick and throughout the Maritimes and Canada. Tablets are an excellent option for using videoconferencing software because they are essentially one big screen that the client can interact with. Eunota will pre-program the videoconferencing platform and can send the tablet to the client using Canada Post. All the client will have to do is turn the tablet on, connect to their home internet, and click a link to join the meeting. This rental service will reduce electronic meeting issues dramatically and ensure that access is available to everyone.

Court Reporting Adapts to COVID’s Second Wave in New Brunswick

Court reporters and legal firms alike have learned a lot from the first wave of COVID-19 and are better prepared to maintain momentum in client files when meeting restrictions are imposed by the government. The pandemic has pushed the legal field into the realm of technology for meeting and this, in our opinion, is excellent! The introduction of using videoconferencing to meet has increased access to rural clients, decreased travel costs, and dramatically improved participation. The only downside that we have noticed is due to inequity when it comes to access to computers, especially with the older clientele.

Costs

Eunota will charge a daily flat rate of $20.00. The timer starts on the business day after the client receives the tablet and will stop when the tablet is shipped. A pre-paid mailer will be included in the shipment for ease to the client. All transportation costs will be covered by the client as well, which we estimate to be $30.00 total. To illustrate, if the client receives the device on Monday afternoon, the timer will start Tuesday morning. If the meeting ends at 3:00 p.m. and the device is shipped that night, the client is only charged one day. The invoice would include the $20.00 daily flat rate, $30.00 return shipping  totaling $50.00 plus recording costs and applicable taxes. See the tablet here.

Client Expectations

The client will be expected to use the tablet only for meeting purposes and return the tablet in a timely manner. In the event that the tablet is lost or damaged, the client will be charged a $200.00 replacement fee.
