The world is going paperless and Moncton-based court reporting company Eunota is keeping up with this trend by offering clients online payment by credit card or e-transfer.

Why Paperless?

Law firms in Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, and throughout New Brunswick are rapidly implementing paperless policies for many reasons including convenience, security, and environmental footprint. Paperless policies also ease the burden of communications and billing under the COVID-19 pandemic. By going “paperless”, a business commits to focusing on electronic documents rather than paper which reduces the environmental footprint dramatically – legal procedures require a lot of documentation and therefore printing. Eunota wishes to ease the paper pile by offering clients two options for paperless payment: e-transfer and credit card.

What is an e-transfer?

An e-transfer is a method of payment in which you send an amount of money through e-mail to the recipient’s bank account, directly. Depending on your bank account set up, there may be a fee for sending or receiving e-transfers. Most court reporters in Moncton and Saint John and throughout New Brunswick will accept e-transfers. This method sends money immediately and is extremely convenient as most individuals don’t have cheques handy anymore. This is also a great option for lawyers working in smaller companies without a dedicated accountant/bookkeeper.

To pay by e-transfer, simply enter the email you received the invoice from into your banking app, enter the amount, and hit send. The money will be entered into Eunota’s chequing account and your bill will be marked paid. To learn more, read Interac’s set-up guide.

Credit Card Payment

Eunota’s newest payment method by credit card makes payments easier for clients who may not have cash on hand or want to earn credit card rewards. Because credit card companies charge a 3% surcharge, Eunota will add 3% to your invoice as a convenience fee. This will be plainly stated on the invoice sent to you from the third-party payment provider.

If you would like to pay by credit card, simply reply to the email with your invoice stating that credit card is your preferred payment, and then Eunota will send you an invoice with a “Pay Now” option to input your credit card information. Because Eunota uses a third-party credit card payment provider, we have no records of your credit card information. The payment is submitted through the provider and then placed into Eunota’s account.
