The Process Explained

After you’ve contacted us and confirmed that the date needed is available, you need to book your meeting. All payments are made after the work is done. We require a 24 hour notice for cancellation. If 24 hours are not given, a 4-hour fee will be charged. If the meeting is to go ahead, the court reporter will present him or herself at the location at least 30 minutes before the meeting start time to set up. The set up takes about 10 minutes, and the reporter will ask any questions they may have before the meeting begins (name spellings, dates, etc.). The meeting will be recorded with as many breaks needed. After the meeting is complete, the reporter will take the equipment home and load files onto a computer (then onto the cloud and an external hard drive – see FAQ for more). If you know that you will be requesting a transcript, the sooner the request is made, the faster the turnaround time. Audio files are kept into perpetuity in three secure storages: the cloud, working external hard drive (stored in fireproof safe), and hard drive stored off-site and backed up once monthly.
